ABOUT US
Golightly is a clothing brand designed so that everyone can feel beautiful and elegant, regardless of size, age or height. The goal of the designer is to make clothes that fit all the beautiful bodies found in our elongated country. The wish is to use as many natural fabrics as possible in the clothes and we work continuously with fit and with design.
We love getting feedback that ladies feel like a million when they wear Golightly clothes, it makes us want to work harder to create what customers want.
The name - Golightly
Holly Golightly is the name of the main character in the 1961 film Breakfast at Tiffany's, one of the truly great film classics, written by Truman Capone in 1958.
The designer loves this film not because of its somewhat simple story, but more because the costume designer in the film has managed to create classic outfits for the main actor which are still relevant today, which never go out of style. According to the designer, Golightly stands for timeless fashion. If you buy a dress or top from Elin, it should be relevant to have in your wardrobe for many years.
About the Designer
Elin is a completely ordinary lady, with a great need and desire to create what she herself thinks is beautiful. Have always been fond of drawing. Is at her happiest when she gets to experience having created something she herself loves, which the customers also show they appreciate.
Is from Trondheim, and very fond of profiling the city she loves -Trondheim, which is why the city is mentioned on all her clothes as the city of origin for her designs.
Production - Working conditions
Our products are manufactured in a Chinese factory, run by a Chinese family. In April 2023, we visited the factory to ensure the quality of working conditions, materials and production.
Several of the factory's workers have worked at this factory for over 20 years, as they thrive. Some experiences worth mentioning are that hot dinner is served to all workers daily, they work favorable working hours under good circumstances and have every Sunday off, as well as regular holidays. We had a positive experience, when we got to see the people behind the production and got confirmation that they have a nice working day with good working conditions.
Production - Material and quality
All fabrics and materials used in our products are handpicked in consultation with us. Fabrics are ordered, dyed, washed and quality checked before the dresses are created. All seams are sewn with a sewing machine, and every single button is sewn on by hand. The dresses are checked and quality assured before they are sent to Norway.
Some dresses are a much bigger piece of work to produce than others, such as the Gold Dress. Here, three different parts of the dress must be colored in their own way to be put together like a puzzle. Then approximately 47 buttons are sewn onto each gold dress by hand.
